Dr. Abigail Northcutt Adams
Dr. Abigail Northcutt Adams is a caring, competent, and compassionate dentist that puts her patients, staff, and colleagues first. After completing her BS at Auburn University, she obtained her DMD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Adams continues to pursue excellence in all facets of her life. She is a published researcher, a board member of three different Dental Associations, and a passionate philanthropist engaging in endeavors such as long-term mission trips to Ecuador, Bolivia, and Venezuela. She has also received rewards of excellence such as the Alabama Board of Dental Scholars Scholarship.
She chose dentistry in order to help people in a tangible way and sees her work as a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those around her. Her philosophy in patient care is to gather as much information as she can about her patients’ wants, needs, and dental care history in order to offer them an optimal treatment plan. She takes the time to listen to her patients’ questions and concerns so that their treatment can be customized to their specific and individual needs.
In her free time, Dr. Adams likes to spend as much time as she can with her loving husband, Tyler, and their daughters, Audrey and Bea. When she is not with family, she enjoys learning about other cultures, bonding with friends about sports (especially Auburn football), and serving in her local church.
Dr. Adams is an active member of the Junior League of Lee County and President of the Rotary Club of LaFayette.

Dr. Matthew Brewer
Dr. Matthew Brewer is a kind, empathetic, and fun-loving dentist who is passionate about providing comprehensive care. He truly enjoys getting to know and interacting with his patients. Dr. Brewer has two B.S. degrees, one in Exercise Science and the other in Dental Hygiene. After completing his B.S. in Dental Hygiene, he decided to pursue his DDS degree at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) because he wanted to be able to help his patients in as many ways as possible. Toward the end of his time at VCU, he was inducted into the dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. This distinction is given to dental students whose efforts and achievements are considered among the top of their class.
During his time at VCU, Dr. Brewer volunteered and provided much-needed dental care to people in underserved areas through the Missions of Mercy project, Caritas, Head Start, VCU’s Jamaica Project, and various other organizations. Dr. Brewer cares about his community and is looking forward to continuing with outreach programs throughout East Central Alabama.
Dr. Brewer first visited Auburn when he spent the holidays with his wife’s family, and he has since then fallen in love with the area. He, his wife Andrea, and their young daughter Madison have moved to Auburn from Virginia recently so that they can spend more time with her family. Dr. Brewer is also excited to be part of the Auburn athletics culture, as sports have always been a huge part of his life. He enjoys playing soccer, floor hockey, and other social sports in his spare time.
Dr. Brewer is excited about what the future holds, and to be part of the team at Auburn Opelika Dental. He can’t wait to meet and start forming long-lasting relationships with all his new patients.
Gwendolyn Finley – Registered Dental Hygienist
Gwendolyn is a hygienist at our LaFayette office. She has been a dental hygienist since 2005. Her mission is to help each patient understand the importance of proper oral hygiene. Gwendolyn has a calm demeanor that quickly earns the trust of those she meets.
Gwendolyn and her spouse are foster parents to children in need.
Benita Brown – Registered Dental Hygienist
Benita is a hygienist at our LaFayette office. She has been in dentistry since 1993 and has been a Dental Hygienist since 1998. Benita enjoys talking to her patients about ways to improve their dental care and oral hygiene. Benita does her absolute best to help patients improve their dental education and experience.
Benita enjoys gardening, animals, and spending time with her family and friends.
Angel Stokes – Registered Dental Hygienist
Angel is a hygienist at our Opelika office. She has 20 years of experience in dentistry. Her favorite part about her career is the interaction she has with each patient. Angel enjoys helping improve the lives of others through oral health care education. Angel was named Star Employee for 2019 for the Opelika office for her hard work and dedication to the patients and our team.
Angel enjoys spending time with her husband and three children outdoors, gardening, and participating in youth sports with her children.
Vanessa Caldwell – Registered Dental Hygienist
Vanessa is a hygienist in our Opelika office. Vanessa is a newly registered hygienist but has been in the dental field for 3 years now. Vanessa loves taking care of our patients and feels it is rewarding to help them improve their smile and overall oral health. Vanessa enjoys building relationships with her patients and strives to provide a comfortable and pleasant experience. In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and going on fun adventures with her two daughters.
D’Ann Franklin – Practice Manager
D’Ann is our Practice Manager at both the Opelika and Lafayette offices. D’Ann is new to the dentistry field but has over 25 years of experience in healthcare. D’Ann is friendly and compassionate and loves the relationships she builds with team members and our patients. D’Ann strives to keep the office atmosphere light and fun and works closely with the staff and patients to ensure the day runs smoothly and needs are met. In D’Ann’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, five children, and her fur babies Higgins and Addie. D’Ann is an avid sports fan and especially loves Auburn Football.
Ginny Workman– Patient Care Coordinator – Opelika
Ginny is our Patient Care Coordinator in our Opelika Office. Ginny has over 20 years of customer service experience but is new to the dental field and loves learning something every day. Ginny enjoys greeting our patients with her contagious smile and enthusiasm. Ginny spends her spare time with her husband and 2 boys, either at sports events or enjoying the outdoors.
Allie Thrower – Patient Care Coordinator – Lafayette
Allie is our Patient Care Coordinator in our Lafayette office. She is dedicated to her work and has two years of experience helping patients feel welcomed, informed, and supported throughout their dental visits. She truly loves what she does and takes pride in making each patient’s experience smooth, comfortable, and positive from start to finish. Allie enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her cat Freddie.
Ayden Thaxton – Dental Assistant
Ayden is a certified dental assistant in our Opelika office. She has two years of assisting experience. Ayden enjoys helping patients receive the care they need and bringing a smile to their faces. In her spare time, Ayden enjoys traveling, singing, and spending time with her dog Grayson.
Kala Driver – Dental Assistant
Kala is a certified dental assistant in our Lafayette office. She has been working in dentistry for nearly three years, gaining experience in both endodontics and general dentistry. She is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and cared for while assisting with procedures that improve their oral health and confidence. From root canals to routine dental care, Kala enjoys being part of a team that makes a positive difference in patients’ lives every day. Kala takes pride in working in a fast paced field that continues to grow and helps people smile a little brighter.
Crystal Williams – Dental Assistant
Crystal is a certified dental assistant at our Lafayette office. After 2 years of assisting Crystal plans to further her education and become a dental hygienist. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and friends at the dirt track.
Trinity Scott – Dental Assistant
Trinity is a dental assistant in our Lafayette office. She began her dental career with us shortly after leaving the military. Trinity plans to further her dental education and career by becoming a hygienist. She is elated to serve and help patients every day. As a mom of one, working with children in the office is the highlight of her day! Trinity loves weightlifting, hiking, reading, and most of all, the hustle!
Kate Grizzell – Insurance Coordinator
Kate is our Insurance Coordinator for both the Opelika and Lafayette offices. Kate has 7 years of dental experience, prior at a pediatric dental office in LaGrange, GA. She also has 20 years in the healthcare field, doing bedside care and working behind the scenes. She loves her interactions with patients and helping them to get the most out of their insurance; she evens likes calling the insurance companies . She is very active with her family , church, and nephews’ sports. When not at work, you can find her cheering at sports events, traveling , or with her dogs.
